Through my window I can see 'Poetry' / A través de mi ventana puedo ver "Poesía".
These journal pages are a tribute to one of my favorite poets. Gustavo Adolfo Claudio Domínguez Bastida, better known as Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer (1836 -1870), was a Spanish Romantic (post-romanticist period) poet and writer, also a literary columnist and talented in drawing. He is considered one of the most important figures in Spanish literature. His best known works are the 'Rhymes and the Legends'. Here you have a small sample, Rhymes 21 and 23:
The background was created using a coat of gesso, acrylic paints and various stamps. To create the faux sky in the window and the hexagon, I used texture paste (Ranger) through a Dayka stencil and metalic blue paint. The books is a chipboard-piece from Prima and the opened book is a piece of decoupage. The heart is a framelit from Sizzix and the decorative edge is fromTim Holtz Alterations. I also used in several pieces crackle paint Distress.
This is my entry at Art Journal Journey.
This month the theme is 'Through My Window'.
